Carroll County reports fifteen youngsters sent to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment and surgery during the past eight months. Grass in Softball Out Board Decides

The Deer Creek park board voted to plow up the softball diamond at Delphi park and sow grass. Softball and baseball are terminated. funds from concessions will not go to the league, breaking last year’s agreement. The board aims to grow a bumper grass crop next spring.

Dr William Clauser will begin private practice with Dr Eliot P Joslin in Boston on November 1. He completes internship at Peter Bent Brigham and Harvard affiliated hospitals this October and will work at the Deaconess Hospital and the George F Baker clinic. Prior training includes Cleveland City Hospital internal medicine internship and four months at Billings Hospital Chicago.

Barnhart to Address Democrats at Camden Rally

Hugh A. Barnhart the Democratic candidate for Congress from the second district will be the principal speaker at a Camden rally at the Camden community buildings Monday evening. It marks his first public county appearance this campaign. A large crowd including all county Democratic candidates will attend the 8 o clock meeting.

Fred L Heiny 62 Dies Sud­denly in Michigan

Fred L Heiny aged 62 died suddenly Monday noon in Monroe Michigan. Funeral services and burial were in Anderson Indiana. He is survived by his widow Ella German Clymer Heiny and many relatives. He was the son of Abraham and Amanda Henry and grew up in the Patton community.

Belva Hunter Chosen to Oppose Mayhill for State House

Mrs Belva Shanks Hunter was named by Carroll and Cass counties Democratic committees as the candidate for state representative. She will face Republican B B Mayhill of Delphi. Hunter runs the Hunter hatchery at Logansport and is daughter of the late John A Shanks of Camden.

Logansport Teams Win Local Tourney

Logansport hosts Delphi invitational softball at the city park with Hot Shots beating a local boys team 5 to 0 in the final. Bridge City Dodgers defeat Rockfield 13 to 7 in the girls final while Rockfield girls beat Pepsi-Cola Kittens 5 to 2. Dodgers also beat Delphi girls 22 to 5. Camden boys edged by Hot Shots 1 to 0 in forenoon action. Delphi defeated Lafayette to reach finals.

Carroll County farmers qualified or to qualify for 1936 soil-conservation payments should request inspection cards now. Those adopting soil-building practices may request inspections even before performance shows. Compare 1936 planted acreage with approved base and 1935 soil-depleting crops to judge qualification. Emergency forage crops after July 1 do not affect classification. About 1100 requests already returned. inspections underway in some townships.

Bridge Reconstruction Funds Approved for Lockport

Ockley Boys Held In Jail For Theft Of Produce

Three Ockley youths Ed Pierson 26 Harry Pierson 16 and Ewing Morris 18 are jailed in Delphi awaiting a probable court action. They are charged with stealing grain and chickens from Burton Homan farm near Ockley and selling the loot in Rossville.
