Governor Ed Jackson to deliver the principal address at the Carrollton bridge opening next Sunday. A Delphi band concert and master of ceremonies Ed ward E. Pruitt will precede traffic opening. Festivities mark relief from isolation for county residents and honor efforts to save taxpayers money amid early bid disputes and state tax board actions.
Luther Ross and others file mandamus in circuit court to compel Glen O. Smith, Bringhurst trustee, to reopen the township four year high school. Washington township has named the teachers who will begin duties with the opening of school on September 3. Mrs Edna Yeager, trustee, announced the assignments: Deer Creek Building Forrest Hummel principal mathematics, Carl McCain principal Latin history, Ralph Gart coach industrial arts, Giieva Yeakey domestic science, Margaret McCain English, Homer Yers junior high. North Central Building Effie Guckien principal fifth and sixth, Herbert Groninger fourth, Geneva Shonwalter second and third, Evelyn Cohee primary. All teachers belong to Cravell County and need no introduction to pupils or patrons.
Edwin Lynch sold a half interest in his barber shop to Omar Clawson of Toledo Ohio who has been a barber there. Clawson specializes in bobbing women's hair and cutting children's hair. The firm will set prices at 25 cents for a haircut and 15 cents for a shave.
The Carroll County Tuberculosis Society will meet at 3 p m Friday in the library. Officers urge all township chairmen to attend. The session is postponed by one week due to a teachers institute.
Delphi’s St Joseph’s baseball hosts Holy Name Sunday at either Haughs or Pruitts field. The game marks the first meeting between the squads with Schlaugh and Hobaugh as the Delphi battery.
