Indian summer described as seasonal myth and charm
The piece weighs competing views on Indian summer, its meaning, and folklore. It contrasts weather explanations with Indigenous legend calling it the lazy farmer's moon, describing harvest delay, birds southward, leaves falling, and a hopeful return of warm, hazy days before frost.
Indian Summer Glory Prompts Quick Enjoyment
This excerpt celebrates the Indian summer as one of the season's finest times. It urges wise people to abandon quarrels and simply relish the warm, golden days.
