Special Session Costs Far More Than Behalf of Farmers
A Washington correspondent notes the current special session of Congress costs exceed the relief sought by farmers. Printing of speeches tops $296,000 and tariff revision printing adds $325,000. The session’s recess and lobbying by factions drive further expenses, suggesting laws are driven by special interests rather than voters.
