A long list of local households plan Thanksgiving dinners across Carroll County. Relatives travel from Lafayette Indianapolis Logansport and Delphi to join hosts including Mr and Mrs J D Small Mrs E S Emerson and Mr and Mrs Clarence McKinley in shared dinners and family time.
Carroll County Board accepts resignation of Ruth A. Kirkpatrick, case worker since 1943, effective January 1, 1967, at a Monday night meeting.
The County Drainage Board met in the commissioners room to receive a remonstrance on the Relan Drain project in Adams Township.
County Auditor J. Dewey Zinn received a state check for 32903.78 dollars as the county's share of the October gas tax distribution. Harold Knitter and his wife returned from Rochester Minnesota where he was treated at the Mayo Clinic. Robert Hawkins and family spent the weekend in Versailles visiting Terry and Diana Berryman and daughters.
The Carroll County Democratic Central Committee and the Women's organization sponsor a cooperative supper on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 at the REMC. All county officials, Democratic candidates, and election workers are urged to attend with filled baskets and own table service.
The event committee includes Kathleen Brummett as chair, with Melvina Goyer, Sarah Van Sickle, Bright Kearns, Margaret Mabbitt, Mary Lou Blue, Dorothy Kenworthy, and Helen Roth assisting.

The Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette presents Spotlight 150 on Sunday December 4 at 2 p.m. in the Delphi high school auditorium. The review covers 150 years of theatre for Indiana’s Sesquicentennial adapted by J Alfred Chiscon and directed by Robert B Holley. Tickets cost 150 for adults and 100 for students, available in Delphi stores offices Flora IGA and from County Sesqui Committee members.
Mrs Betty Cline of New York City spent several days recently with her sister Mrs Joseph T Ives and Mr Ives.
The Oracles varsity scrimmage ends with whites leading 45 to 24 as rule changes are explained. Captains Steve Brehmer and Ron Israel anchor teams while Gerry Medina and Steve Wood see action. First game vs Southwestern Friday December 2 and at Clinton Central Saturday December 3.
Ralph Zinn, president of Car roll County Country Club, announced this week that Bill Myers resigns from the club after serving as manager since last spring. Directors will run the club until a new manager contract is signed in March.
Stanley Bill Haines aged 19 and Nancy Ellen Brower aged 19 of Flora receive licenses to marry Michael R. Watson aged 22 of Burrows and Shirley Ann Shank aged 24 of route 2 Delphi.
The Woods announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of Wanda Lou Woods to Lawrence A. Hill of Pompano Beach Florida. The DePauw students will wed at the First Presbyterian Church in Delphi at 2 pm Saturday December 17. Santa arrives Friday at 2 pm, tours Delphi, and will be available for visits December 2 9 and 16 at the Wake Up station and North Washington Street. Retail stores announce extended hours December 7 14 and 21 and December 19 23 with drawings for 25 15 and 10 merchandise certificates on December 2 9 and 16.
Mr and Mrs Myron Johnson and Mary Eileen host an open house on Friday November 25 from 10 to noon 2 to 4 30 and 7 30 PM for family members home for Thanksgiving. Guests include Mr and Mrs Rolly Harwell and three children of Tuscaloosa Alabama Miss Sara Jane Johnson of East Lansing Michigan and Mr and Mrs Michael Johnson of New York City arriving Wednesday in Delphi through Saturday. They will be Thanksgiving Day guests of Mr and Mrs John T Johnson and Eric of Bringhurst.
Herschel Smith of Rossville is a patient at Home Hospital in Room 108 recovering from surgery after a fall from a silo on the Ray Smith farm three weeks ago.
Delphi High School audience enjoyed The Barretts of Wimpole Street as the Thespians debuted on stage. Barbara Mullin impressed as Barbara Barrett while Ron Stockton played Father Barrett with stern authority. Veronica Oesterlein and Peggy Gianoulis drew praise for emotion and charm, supported by strong turns from Jim Borton and Beverly Mullin. Director Morris Buck led a dedicated set and costume crew, with costumes largely handmade by volunteers. The after party was held at Dr Emerson's barn with snacks and gifts to the director.
The Carroll County Christian Youth Council will sponsor a CROP can drive across county towns except Flora Delphi and Camden over the next weeks. Volunteers may join others at the Christian Church in Delphi at 10 o clock Saturday morning.
Mr and Mrs Carol Coble of Rockfield are visiting relatives in California.
Mrs Paul Quick received the Silver Bell pin for 500 hours of volunteer work at Logansport State Hospital and a silver bar for 200 more hours. Hazel Kirkpatrick of the State Mental Health Committee presented the awards at a recent Presbyterian Church Woman's Association meeting.
Oracle star Steve Brehmer was named the top quarterback on the AP All-Indiana high school team. Teammate Craig Groninger earned All-State junior honors after rushing for over 1,000 yards. Fullback Ron Israel narrowly missed the All-State spot.
