Carroll ASCS Top Operation In State

Veterans Affairs Pension Changes Notice

The Carroll County Veterans Affairs Office in Delphi reminds veterans and widows receiving VA pensions of new 1965 changes effective January 1. The Delphi Lions designate Mrs Wilburn Miller of R R 3 Box 17B as this week’s Cheer Club member. She is mother to Donnie and Donna Miller and has been ill since July, with hospitalization noted. A shower of greetings is suggested.

Ted Brown reports the election of five township representatives for a three year term. Land owners, farm tenants, and Home Demonstration Club members voted by mail. Delaney Brothers Home On Leave From Camp Pendleton

Marine Privates Larry and Mike Delaney return to US shores for a 20 day leave after completing 344 months of basic training at Camp Pendleton California. They will report to Memphis Tennessee Sunday for further training. Larry is the son of Mr and Mrs Robert Delaney and Mike is the son of Mr and Mrs Charles Delaney.

License Plates May Be Reserved Today

1965 license plates for passenger cars may be reserved from today until December 15, Thelma Lines announced. Drivers may apply at the branch office and must present a receipt for the second instalment of personal property tax and the current registration certificate.

Break-ins Investigated Across Camden Area Last Weekend

Three burglaries were probed by the sheriff s department last weekend. Glen Sells reported a home break in on Friday between 6 30 and 11 P M with a 19 inch portable TV and cash stolen. Carol Rice said her front door was cut to gain entry, with a $75 coin collection missing. The D A Garrison Grain Transport Co case involved a rear door glass break in West Delhi, Sunday morning theft of $40 cash and several checks. Deputy Sheriff Bill Baum State Trooper Herb Clear and State Detective Dale Douglas Sheriff Coghill led the investigations.

Judge Smith Leads County Seal Sale For Tuberculosis Drive

Carroll County Circuit Court Judge William B. Smith heads the 1965 Christmas Seal Sale to fund Tuberculosis Association projects with Betsy Palmer as honorary chair. The program adds a third seal sheet and promotes heightened school health efforts including four grade tests and mobile X rays.

Clinton Prairie Joins Hoosier Conference

Clinton Prairie High School joins the Hoosier Conference bringing nine member schools. Basketball schedules exclude the new member this season while track and baseball join next spring. full conference play to begin in 1965 66. School-College Night at D. H. S. December

Members of FTA in cooperation with the High School Guidance Office sponsor School-College Night at the High School auditorium on Tuesday December 1. A welcome address and two sessions run 8 20 to 9 05 with a social hour to follow. Parents are urged to attend conferences with their children. Last Will of Carl E. Eikenberry Probated in Court

Carl E. Eikenberry died November 13 and his last will was probated in court Tuesday. Debts are to be paid first and the remainder of the estate goes to his widow Mabel M. Eikenberry who qualified as Executor with a $2000 bond. Bishop was named Executor and also bonded for $2000.

Thespian Play Draws Weekend Crowds At Local High School

The high school stage production Our Hearts Were Young and Gay drew capacity crowds Friday and Saturday. Marcia Huff starred as Madame Elise with strong turns from Diane Ford Sandi Ward Mercedes Dwyer and Suzee Walker. Director Morris Buck, sidelined by flu, still guided a cast praised for convincing accents and improvised costumes.
