State Auditor Floyd E Williamson cites higher gasoline tax collections as proof bootlegging is under control in Indiana. Last week a group of gasoline companies urged Governor Leslie and Williamson to launch an investigation into bootlegging and tax evasion. October gasoline tax receipts reached 1 749 702 dollars, up 68 809 from last October, and the past year total tax take was 19 012 427 dollars, up 1 100 900 despite a deep depression.
