Edgar L. Apperson, 86, stopped in Delphi en route to Phoenix after visiting Kokomo for American Legion Post 6 events and dedication of Apperson Way. He recalls early industry history including the Riverside Machine Shop in Kokomo and the Apperson car line, and his company’s rise to 14 000 units yearly before liquidation in 1926.

Leonard Blythe dies after heart attack at Delphi furniture store
Leonard James Blythe forty nine owner of Blythe Furniture Store in Delphi died of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon while seated in the store talking to employee Naomi Johnson. He had a history of heart trouble and leaves a widow Luella Crowder and two sons James Harry and William Lee. Survived by his mother Mrs Harry Blythe and preceded in death by a brother William. Friends may call at Eikenberry funeral home after 7 p m. Friday funeral Friday at 2 p m. with two ministers officiating burial in Masonic cemetery.

Delphi Youth Faces Two Charges in DelphI Case
William Lee Robinson aged 19 of Delphi was charged with second degree burglary and vehicle taking after stealing a car on Front Street. Patrolman Coghill chased him. he abandoned the car on North Union Street and fled. Officers recovered loot from the service station break-in and Robinson admitted thefts including gas robberies.
