City Council Boosts Water Pressure and Street Work Plan
In regular session the council moved to remove old sidewalks and curbs near the Fam Corporation Obear and Overholsers replacing half the cost with a new approach. Ordinance 366 to remove unlicensed vehicles was passed on second and third readings and takes effect after two weeks. Street Commissioner Hayden may buy a suction hoist for leaf removal. Work continues on the new pumping station to raise water pressure on the hill.

Oracle Track Squad Earns Four Places at Regional Meet
Oracle track athletes qualified four members for the regional meet at Logansport last Friday evening. Greg Shaeffer placed third in the pole vault with 13-114, Larry Logsdon fourth at 12-8, both new school records. Jeff Long finished third in the 880 with 2:03, tying the school record, and Jerry Henderson was fourth in the broad jump at over 20 feet. John Schidler of Delphi aged 74 keeps his old fiddle in shape and hopes to gather the gang for a square dance soon. Born in Grandeville Tippecanoe County he first played at age ten on June 16 1902.
