Planning meetings shaped Carroll County 4-H work for 1945 with Freida Burgitt named county 4-H club leader. Girls and boys outline home economics livestock and farm management projects and a Flora August 4-H fair finalizes the year.
Carroll County Girls 4-H leaders honored at the 45th Planning Meeting in Delphi. Awards for one to six years, club charters and seals conferred, and a 4-H Judging and Demonstration Training School announced for May. Camp plans, enrollments due by April 2, and dress revue details outlined.
A Home Economics Officers Training School met Thursday afternoon in the county courthouse assembly room with 61 attendees from 15 of 16 local clubs. County leaders presided and discussed 4-H club support, fats salvage, price control, and garden work with Purdue specialist Anna Belle Clawson outlining goals of extension work.
Miss Clawson outlined the roles of Home Economics president vice president secretary and project leader in planning and conducting well arranged programs. The group reviewed the new unified state club books noting that clubs must keep the new book or may adopt the new booklet and that records require it. Members praised the unified Carroll county programs and training highlighted four project leader duties attending training meetings adopting lessons preparing and teaching lessons and following up on practices. Robert Rolskuski and family joined Mrs. John Baer to her Delphi home Sunday from Fort Wayne.
