W A Bing Noble has been discharged from the VA hospital after intermittent confinement during a year of nine operations resulting in both legs being amputated. He plans to return in about three weeks to be fitted for artificial limbs.

Ralph E. Hanna of Delphi announces as a Democratic candidate for the nomination for joint senator from Carroll White and Clinton counties. A 52 year old lawyer and Army Lt Colonel, he has served as assistant attorney general and public counsellor of Indiana and practiced in Delphi since World War II. He is married to Mary Lou Gerard with two children and holds memberships in local and state bar associations, Elks and Eagles.

Tornado Strikes Vaughan Farm Leaves Wreckage and Calm Resolve

After a tornado ripped through the Vaughan farm in the county, the couple faced shattered shed and garage, a demolished car, toppled trees, and a damaged roof while calmly coordinating with Sheriff Carey and keeping focus on safety. The farm also lost hundreds of chickens, but the Vaughan family expressed gratitude for their safety as the dog remained loyal at the scene.

Grey Ladies of Carroll County Brighten Logansport Patients

Red Cross Grey Ladies visit Logansport state hospital one afternoon weekly to read write letters play games and entertain patients. They host monthly ward parties with treats funded by the Red Cross and were thanked by patients who sent $50 for a Christmas party in Ward D.

Robert Clawson Named REMC Manager in Carroll County

Robert Clawson was named manager of Carroll County REMC after serving as acting manager since February 1. A Delphi high school graduate, he previously worked at Mount Hardware in Delphi, then joined REMC as a lineman and line foreman, later becoming electrical advisor and public relations chief. He is president of the Delphi Lions Club, a Presbyterian, married with two children Jerry in the Navy and Nancy.

Two Delphi Students Earn State Science Honors

Doug McCain and Hubert Schmitter of Delphi High School won honorable mention in Indiana Science Talent Search. They will attend the Junior Scientists Assembly March 23–24 at the Claypool Hotel, exhibiting their December science project and being interviewed by the judging committee. Delphi Country Club members elect a completely new board and grant equal voting rights to all members regardless of stock ownership. Mears Purchases 220 Acre Gerbens Farm East of Delphi

Sherry Mears has bought the Gerbens farm of 220 acres east of Delphi from the Andrew Gerbens estate and other landowners. The Mears family has resided there for several years. The price was not disclosed.

Rotary Conference Opens In Elkhart With Musselman Presiding

The forty second annual District 224 Rotary International conference convenes in Elkhart this week with District Governor Fren Musselman of Camden presiding. Sessions start at 9 a.m. and a breakfast for presidents and secretaries plus wives follows. About 500 Rotarians are expected to register for the two day meeting.

Board Reappoints Mullendore As County Home Supt

At a Tuesday meeting the Board of County Commissioners re appointed Warnie Mullendore as superintendent of the county home. He will serve until August when he plans to retire and move to the home he and Mrs Mullendore recently bought in Rockfield.

The Kokomo sectional mailed a financial report: 6362 season tickets at $2.25 totaling 14314.50 and 2287 session tickets at 1.493.05. Expenditures were 3028.11. City Council Asked to Vote on Fast Time

The Delphi Chamber of Commerce board sent a fast time question to the City Council for action after years of resolutions. The council may align with neighboring towns and observe year round fast time or daylight saving rules. The council meets again March 19 to decide. The group also honored Louella Fetterhoff for selling land for a new armory and referred Good Friday closing requests to members.

Delphi Girl Injured Seriously In Frankfort Wreck

Miss Jacqueline Herron 17 of Delphi sustained a crushed pelvis and other injuries in a one car accident near Frankfort early Sunday. The vehicle, driven by Michael Ginn of Frankfort, left the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Herron remained the most seriously hurt among five occupants. hospital officials later reported her condition as fair.
