Delph i section coverage lauds the Oracles after a 10 point win over Kokomo with Jerry Wagner starring in a scrappy, hustling effort. Delphi returns the county sectional trophy for the first time since 1951, amid a townwide celebration in Riley Park and a large parade. Fans packed the armory for a pep session, and ticket sales for the regional event reached 700 of 1196 before the Kokomo game.
More than 130 volunteers aided by Reed Goslee and Don Roth built a 105 by 60 foot pole barn at Flora 4-H Fair grounds to house 120 calves. Tri Kappa presents Suddenly It's Spring a fashion show on Wednesday March 13 at 8 p m in the Delphi Armory. The event features clothing for children teens and adults with outfits from Palais Royal Lafayette and Cliffords of Delphi. Admission is 1.00 with proceeds to Tri Kappa charity fund.
Carroll county high schools will hold a career and guidance day at Flora high school on Friday March 8. All county seniors from Delphi and other schools will attend a 12 30 p m assembly with representatives from professions colleges and the armed forces.
Mr and Mrs Lotie Haslet have purchased the Mrs Henry Hilgendorf property in Ockley and will move after remodeling. They now reside at the Orton Zook property in Ockley following the farm sales in Clay township.
Susan Edson Wason widow of Judge James Paddock Wason died March 1 in Birmingham Michigan after weeks of illness. A former Delphi resident she led local civic work including the Carroll County Tuberculosis Society and Delphi Woman's Club. Funeral held in Birmingham with burial in Navesink New Jersey. She was 76.
The Carroll county elementary tournament opened at Delphi armory with four games Wednesday night: Owasco vs Pittsburg at 6, Carrollton vs Rockfield at 7, Adams Township vs New Hope at 8, and Yeoman vs Burrows at 9. Thursday finals set finalists for 6:30 and 7:30 with Friday’s 6:30 consolation and 7:30 championship. New Hope is defending champion. Brown and Hale officiate. trophies for champion and best cheerleaders.
Governor Handley must sign a bill extending the term of the Carroll circuit court. The measure creates three annual terms starting the second Monday in January, the first Monday in April, and the second Monday in September, with term length tied to work volume.

County Commissioners approve changes at the local jail due to Sheriff C L Carey illness. Mrs C L Carey resigns as jail matron and Mrs John Miller becomes matron. The Millers will move into the jail residence and await the sheriff's recovery before returning home.
The last will of Albert Shaffer is filed in Carroll circuit court. Debts are to be paid first and remaining property goes to his three children Paul Wayne and Viola Nichols in equal shares. Wayne Shaffer is named executor and has posted an $8 000 bond. Lewis N Mullin represents the executor.
In Carroll circuit court on a Wednesday afternoon the divorce complaint of Thomas W. Bishop versus Janet Bishop was granted. The court awarded custody of a minor child. Thomas W. Bishop and Janet Bishop were represented by Hanna and Hanna for Mrs. Bishop.
A crowded roster lists multiple high school players by position and team across several schools. Names include Forward Gerard and J Whaley, Center Orbaugh, Guards Hanna Klinger Bowling and Yerkes, with Delphi and Kokomo and Western receiving noted mentions.
Jerry Wagner of Delphi topped the Carroll-Howard County sectional tourney scoring with 62 points. The Old Brown Church near Rockfield in Rock Creek township will be auctioned at 10 a m Saturday morning. Proceeds fund a site marker honoring the church and its members. The 36 by 56 foot frame structure, dedicated in 1860, has stood unused for over four decades and will be sold for removal from the site.
An Institute on Rheumatic Fever and Other Heart Diseases for nurses from Carroll and eight adjoining counties will be held Thursday March 14 at Memorial Union Building Purdue. Sponsored by the Indiana Heart Foundation and Central Northwest District Nurses Association. Panelists include Mary Ruth Smith RN Crawfordsville and former Mary Ruth Pierce of Delphi.

Delphi defeats Kokomo 54 44 to win the Kokomo sectional final and advance to the regional where they face Peru Saturday at 1 PM. The Oracles overturned a late 4th quarter deficit, surged in the fourth, and built a lead that sealed the win.
