The Starke County Board of Commissioners filed suit in Carroll circuit court against 5.0 Smith The Smith Construction Company and others seeking 8400 damages. Welfare Director's Brother Killed in Balers Accident
Lola Parks county welfare director was notified Friday night of her brother Lowell Edwards Sr age 44 killed when a baler conveyor fell on his head at Elmer Kopka farm in Benton county. He worked for Vermont Marble in Remington and died minutes after the accident while helping load hay. He was survived by his wife Evie Waynack and a son. Funeral rites were held in Remington.

Discharged Marine Injured in Tulsa Area Car Crash
Glen Edward Myers, son of Mr and Mrs Herschel Myers of Ockley, suffered a brain concussion and other injuries after a three car crash near Tulsa. Two companions were injured and three others in the other cars were killed. Myers was en route home after discharge from the Marine Corps.
