Groundbreaking Planned for St. Peter's Church in Camden
Ground will be broken Sunday July 3 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Camden for a new one story church designed since 1959. The plan includes Sanctuary a chapel two classrooms and rest rooms. Charles Jones is building chairman and Rev Paul Krebs leads the congregation inviting members and friends to attend.

Burrows Man Killed as Freight Train Strikes Truck
Thomas R. Schreder 35 of Burrows died when his 1965 pickup was hit by an eastbound Norfolk and Western freight at the old Wabash crossing on county road 100 East. The collision occurred at 9 06 a m with the train moving 40 to 45 mph. Schreder owned Schreder's Standard Service in Logansport and was a Korean War paratrooper. He was survived by wife Barbara J and a large extended family in Logansport and Royal Center. Burial was at Ever Rest Memorial Park. funeral services were held at Fisher Funeral Home officiated by Rev G Edward Alley. Authorities included State Troopers and Carroll County officers.

Tony Berto leads Delphi's Summer Recreation Program with bus transport to Col umbian Park Lafayette. Buses depart Riley Park Delphi every Wednesday at 1 p m and return from Columbian Park at 4 p m arriving home around 4 30 p m. Thirty five cents per trip. program open to 8 through high school. Seventy eight boys and twenty six girls signed up.

Sunday Accident Sends 4 to White County Hospital
A car driven by 16 year old Diana Cauble of Yeoman left the road on 39 near the Orville Brewer residence north of Delphi at 10 30 a m Sunday. It struck rocks and rolled injuring Diana and three passengers Connie Cauble Tammy Cauble and Lela Turner. All were taken to White County Hospital by the Jackson ambulance. Sheriff Coghill and Trooper Bob Fox investigated.

Jail Fracas Ends With Self Harm After Divorce Threat
Carroll ton Williams, a parolee from Pendleton serving a 2 year 7 month term for forgery, slashed both wrists with a safety razor in the local jail after his wife announced she was suing for divorce. He received treatment at St Elizabeth Hospital and was returned to Pendleton with watchful custody. Sheriff Coghill was called to an emergency during the episode.

Coghill In Serious Condition After Farm Accident
James Coghill 23 remains in serious condition at Home Hospital after being kicked in the chest by a mare at his father's farm on Hose Shoe Bend Saturday morning. He suffered severe heart damage and has been in intensive care since the accident. He is son of Albert Coghill and Mrs. Fred Barnaby of route 2 and nephew of Sheriff James Coghill. He recently completed a four year Marine Corps tour and works at the Eli Lilly plant in Lafayette.

Flora Mary Perry, 33, was picked up near the George Anderson home on 39 north Sunday evening after a passing motorist reported unsafe driving.
