State officers William Oberle Orville Gunyon and Crawford Barker plan to attend. A smorgasbord follows the meeting.

County Auditor Ada Roach has completed distributing over 600000 in tax funds to county units. Delphi school received 103733.77 the smallest Yaoman 393.99. State of Indiana 35198.56 county general 48529.65 welfare 17531.96 and other funds allocated to townships and corporations.
Dr Jack E Orr of Delphi Indiana accepts the deanship of the school of pharmacy at the University of Washington in Seattle. The 37 year old Delphi native and current dean of the University of Montana will begin duties in September after degrees from Purdue Wisconsin and Ohio University and prior posts at Utah and Ohio University.

Miss Nelette Clifford and family attended the first solemn mass of Rev. Paul John Clifford S J at St Ignatius Church Chicago. A reception followed at the Illinois Catholic Women's club after the mass. Rev. Clifford, cousin to Nellette and Hubert Clifford, was ordained last Wednesday at West Baden college.
Carroll County Old Settlers Association plans the 1101st annual meeting for August 11 in Delphi City Park with centennial focus on the Wabash Railroad. A replica of the first engine will be shown, plus history skits and a guard from the company. Descendants of early builders and shovel-ditchers are invited to contact organizers.
Investigators ruled reckless flying caused a Saturday plane crash that killed Howard Kirkham, 52, of Monticello, and his nephew Edward Hurlbert, 24, of Reynolds. The Aeronica aircraft, taking off from Monticello, plunged during a low altitude bank claim, with coroner reports citing crushed chest and fractured skull among injuries.
The Indiana State Chamber of Commerce estimates Carroll county 1955 taxes totaled about 7 401 900 with 462 per person. Local property taxes were 1 155 604 and county share of state taxes 892 149 totaling 2 047 753. Federal taxes reached 5 354 147. For the state 1955 taxes include 291 047 000 local property taxes and 260 322 342 state taxes with 1 570 131 064 federal taxes. Local units received over 40 cents of each dollar.
Jack Brown owner of Jack Brown Buick in Delphi signed a new five year contract with Buick Motor Division of General Motors in Indianapolis. The prior arrangement had Buick dealers on one year contracts.
Through Tuesday arrangements Paul Johnson Ford Sales transferred the Ford agency to Gene Lahr owner of Lahr Motors on East Main Street in Delphi. The deal awaits Ford Motor Co Detroit approval and includes part of the stock and service equipment. The Johnson service department closes but will liquidate parts equipment and used car stocks for 60 days. Lahr is liquidating Chrysler Plymouth parts and equipment. Johnson, Ford agent since March 1936, outlined his future plans.
Prominent Delphi couple Mr. and Mrs. Yanus E Wells celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Married June 25 in Osborne Ohio, they mark fifty years at their Indian Lake home. They will spend days in Dayton Cincinnati and Kentucky retracing their wedding trip and visiting relatives.
Beverly Berninger, manager of Metzger Lumber Company, advanced a longtime employee this week to assistant manager after ten years with the local firm. The move reflects internal promotion and continued stability for the business.
Judge and Mrs William B Smith mourn the death of Mrs Carl W Woessner in Chicago on Friday. Mrs Woessner died at 10 am Friday with funeral rites held Monday morning in Menominee Michigan.
Delegates from the county head to Indianapolis to back Claude Wickard of Carrollton township in the race for the U S Senate nomination. Wickard runs unopposed so far as seven candidates seek the governor nomination with county Democratic leaders John Merrell and Mrs Thelma Sines aiding Wickard's bid.
The Carroll Farm Bureau invites all county business firms to attend its annual meeting at the REMC auditorium in Delphi Friday night June 22 at 8 p m. Glen Sample from Indiana Farm Bureau will be the speaker with a Talent Night planned. Winners advance to the district meet in July. C T Amick will offer devotions and a social hour follows.
A 33 year old Ohio woman was picked up by city police in downtown Delphi on a vagrancy charge. She claimed to be homeless with no money and traveling by hitchhiking. She was released shortly after questioning.
Mary Roy Moore, 70, formerly of Delphi, died Friday at his Galveston home. A former Wingard grocery employee, he was a Mason and received a 50 year pin from the Delphi Lodge. His wife Viola Brechbeil of Rockville survives with two sons and a daughter.
Robert Schooler, who spent the winter in California, arrived home Monday for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Schooler.

Delphi kicks off its Little League season with a parade at 2 p.m. from the school, featuring convertibles and National Guard vehicles carrying 168 players, managers, and coaches. A flag-raising ceremony at the new Hamilton Street park precedes two games, Globe White Sox versus Brown Buick Braves and Eikenberry Indians versus Lion's Cubs, with Judge Frederick Landis tossing first ball.
