Parties uncertain on convention strength after district cut
Indiana's reduction of congressional districts from thirteen to twelve fuels uncertainty about representation at next year's national conventions. Democratic and Republican state headquarters will seek guidance from their national bodies. In Kansas City the Republican allocation stood at thirty three votes, raised by the convention committee due to protests over southern representation.

Houston Convention Delegates and Shifts in 1933 Map
The Houston convention will set delegates by the new 1933 congressional map reducing Indiana seats from thirteen to twelve. Each party will name twenty-four district delegates with two from each district and nine delegates-at-large for the Republicans if thirty-three total, six for Democrats if thirty total. The electoral college tally drops Indiana’s electors to fourteen, down from fifteen, under redistricting. The unit rule may apply to the next Democratic national delegation after repeal of statewide primary feature.
