Indiana medical school graduate Ned Perry Rule to intern at IU Medical Center

Ned Perry Rule will graduate with honors from Indiana University Medical School in Bloomington on Monday June 14. He is the son of Mrs. Erich Bredl of Indianapolis and the late Perry Rule. A 1957 Delphi High School graduate, he also attended DePauw University and belongs to Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Delta Chi, and Delta Omicron Chi. He was invited to join Alpha Omicron Alpha and plans to intern at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis next year before a residency in urology.

Paris Wedding for Marina Christiensen and David Justice

Marina Christiensen and David O. Justice were married in Paris on April 27. The bride’s parents are Dr. and Mrs. Bernard Christiensen of Minneapolis, and the groom’s are Mr. and Mrs. John T. Justice of Logansport. The couple, former Sorbonne students, plan to return to the United States June 9 with David resuming his senior year at Wabash College in September.

Child Hurts Arm In Door Incident At Home

Jerri Moore four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs James Moore ran through a storm door while playing Tuesday evening and cut her arm severely. She was taken to Home Hospital for surgery and stitches and will stay there three or four days.

Class of 1935 to Meet Saturday July 24

The Delphi High School class of 1935 sets Saturday July 24 for the thirtieth anniversary reunion at the American Legion Home in Delphi. About 48 graduates and teachers are invited, with past reunions in 1955 1956 and 1960 establishing five year intervals. Officers planning the reunion include Dennis McCouch as president Arthur McDowell as vice president Margaret Burkle and Garnette Smith as secretary and treasurer.

Commandery to Confer Order of Malta at June Conclave

Delphi Commandery No. 40 KT will hold a 7:30 p.m. conclave on Monday June 14 with the Order of Malta conferred in full form. New Malta paraphernalia will be used for the first time and St. Johns Commandery Logansport plans to attend with additional equipment. Refreshments follow in the Temple Dining Room and all members and visiting sojourners are invited.

Commissioners Give Film Library To County Schools

In regular session the Carroll County Commissioners approved filing claims and decided to transfer the extensive film library from the County Superintendent of Schools to all Carroll County consolidated schools. The library will be stored in the office of the Superintendent of the Community Schools Corporation.

Ronald Galloway Receives Ball State Degree

Mr and Mrs Kenneth Galloway attended Ball State commencement in Muncie where their son Ronald earned a B S in Health and Education. He plans to complete a master's by August and will teach at Clay Junior High School in Carmel. The family will move to Carmel this August.

Ottingers Receive Masters Degrees at Ball State

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ottinger of Muncie earned master’s degrees at Ball State University during Sunday’s commencement. Mrs. Ottinger, former Barbara Johnson of Camden, studied business and taught in Eaton Schools, with plans to teach in Elwood next term. Mr. Ottinger, son of Earl Ottinger of Logansport, earned a master’s in social studies and will resume his third year teaching in Elwood Schools this fall.

Summer Reading Programs At Delphi Public Library

The Delphi Public Library runs three summer programs including Busy Bee Reading Club for grades one through six with rewards for ten books and stamps for every four. A free movie at summer’s end awaits those who read ten books or more. Younger children attend a 1:30 session on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with 35 at the Wednesday session.
