County plans road numbering and six day work week
County commissioners approved numbering county roads on a map and transferring numbers to signs when funds allow. To clear a backlog, a six day work week was authorized for all county highway employees until work is caught up. Rain has delayed summer repairs on blacktop roads. Local drownings drew concern as boats crowded Lake Freeman and Lake Shafer over the long weekend. Commendations were given to officers, volunteers, the REMC, and Public Service employees for rescue and repair efforts.
