Open House Day at Camp Tecumseh includes a La Porte Girls Band concert at 3:00 pm, swimming with lifeguards, a new water slide, pier and diving tower, plus picnics, games, athletic events, and a riverfront fireworks display to close the day. Families welcome. gravel road, rain shelter provided.
Reverend Russel B. Kern came back Thursday after a ten day fishing tour in Wisconsin. He sent 20 pounds of fish by express to Wisconsin recipients and 25 pounds to friends at Battle Ground. Mrs. Kern distributed the fish among local families while the Lafayette District superintendent Dr. Daugherty shared another 20 pounds with Bat tle Ground friends. A five pound pickerel was among the catch and many neighbors visited his Delphi home during distribution.
E. E. Ramsey presented to the Indiana state education board a report recommending major changes in junior high school supervision. Ramsey called his proposed plan a career highlight if adopted, proposing that junior high schools be used only in larger systems with favorable buildings and enrollments over 300 in grades seven to nine.
Miss Alice Elizabeth Whitcomb of Oxford Ohio leaves for a year abroad with her parents Pro and Mrs Fred Whitcomb to join her in January. Prof Whitcomb long taught at Delphi High School and Mrs Whitcomb, formerly Miss Nellie Collins, taught in local city schools.
The Delphi Golf Club plans a monthly social program for members and families. July chairman Buel Ulm leads a year full of events with chairmen named for each month and committees formed by James P. Wason. Rev. Dale Le Count and Sutton Van Pelt welcomed as new members.
Delphi event by Oakdale dam talent led by Robert Burton featured Coxie Baumgartner and his daughters with songs readings and dances. A Yale graduate Burton spoke on social activities at the camp while George Harley displayed 60 to 70 year old red top boots. The program was praised as one of the best for the Historical Society.
The Rockfield Home Economics Club will hold a meeting Friday afternoon July 3 in the church basement Neyalge.
Henry Crone purchased Roscoe Shelley’s stake and assumed full management of Crone & Shelley meat market on Wednesday. Crone has sixteen years in the meat business and understands community demands in assortment and quality.
D. H. Bloyd and Son have purchased the Baum Feed Store and Cream Station and assumed control Monday. Mr. Baum has not announced his future plans.
All Carroll County alumni and students of DePauw University and their families will gather for an annual picnic at Delphi Park in this city at 6 30 P M on July 10 1925. Dr Henry B Longden DePauw VP will address the meeting. Attendees are urged to bring baskets and a Freshman appetite. Chester Lesh of Camden has joined the Delphi Citizen office. The mechanical department is led by Ralph Orr with Edwin McGuire and Chester Lesh as assistants. Miss Edna Trawin assists in the front office.
The Citizens National Bank declared a 4 percent semi annual dividend while the Carroll County Loan and Trust Co announced a 3 percent semi annual dividend on their respective accounts.
L. E. Dellinger and two Dayton children will spend the Fourth with sister Mrs. Yanus Wells. They travel with three friends who will visit at the Wells home. Phyllis Jean Dellinger stays in Delphi for the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Wells.
Prof. and Mrs. Virgil Stinebaugh and daughter Marjorie of this city join Prof. J. C. Younker of Bringhurst and Prof. Glen W. Maple of Camden as they depart Tuesday for New York to attend summer sessions at Columbia University.
The sixteen day old son of Mr and Mrs Fred Hannel of Ockley died Wednesday. Burial was at Moss cemetery near Flora on Thursday. The infant’s name was Robert H Hannel.
The Deer Creek Township Home Economics club schedules an all day meeting on Thursday July 9 at Delphi Park with a cooperative lunch at noon. Members are asked to bring pencil needles scissors white thread thimble pins a ruler a quarter yard of white muslin fabric scraps colored wash materials three fourths yard of rick rack erie four yards of cotton tape embroidery needles hooks and a quarter yard of lace edging.
Patrons paying July rents receive updated telephone directories accurate through July 1 prepared and printed at the Delphi Citizen office.
The Citizen notes the office will be closed all day July 4. A free Fourth of July celebration is planned at Camden Indiana with activities for residents and visitors.
The notice states that both metered and flat rate water rents must be paid by the 10th to avoid action by Reimer R. Arnold, the Water Agent.

Local officials form a three member committee led by Abner Bowen to push a small dam across Deer Creek for a public swimming pool. Plans call for a four foot structure of logs rocks and cross timbers with boards on the upstream face. Public donations and volunteer labor are sought to fund and build the project with help from Chamber of Commerce president W H Bradshaw and Oakdale dam booster Van Pelt.
Prof Ira C Landis of Riverside California visiting friends in the area He was a delegate to the Kiwanis convention in St Paul and attended the National Educational Association meeting in Indianapolis He is now superintendent of Riverside County schools and formerly taught here His wife was Miss Clara Dern of the county
