Fire crews and mayor praised for restoring the Delphi water supply after a break flooded the main line. Scouts and marchers aided public safety while residents celebrated the all-clear, with coffee breaks and small misadventures noted amid the effort.
Mr and Mrs Herbert Norman of Lafayette have rented the Mary Haugh apartment on Front Street and will move there this week. Mr Norman is an employee at the Mononsh in Lafayette.
The Carroll County Tuberculosis Association family living group will host its annual meeting at the Bradshaws home. A cooperative dinner at 6 30 precedes the program featuring officer elections, a year in review, and plans for the coming year.
A John Deere Day parade attracts up to 100 farmers led by Bassett & Talbert, starting at their store on Main Street and heading east to Wilson and Franklin to the REMC. After the march, attendees gather in the REMC auditorium for a John Deere Day show with the feature film Galahad Jones and other features, plus a free lunch at noon. Wayne and Harold Talbert promise family entertainment and urge attendance.
Donations collected during the Mothers March on Polio in Flora Camden and Delphi total $763.00 with Flora $350 Delphi $276 and Camden $137.33. The Carroll County drive will end tonight and contributors are urged to send in gifts promptly for a final report. The campaign closes Saturday with a benefit dance sponsored by Carroll County Rural Youth and the Camden Senior Class at the Camden Community Club.
Master Sergeant John Bowman of Delphi describes the Sabrejet maintenance challenges faced by the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing in Korea. He notes shortages of parts and improvisation with sandbag mounts, and his Korea work will be featured on WLW as part of These Are Your Sons.

Mrs Frank Hedderich route one Camden New Jersey will be heard in an interview with Martha Crane WLS Feature Foods Director Saturday morning February 4 The program was recorded last weekend while she visited Chicago for a Prairie Farmer WLS recognition weekend She is among nine midwestern farm women chosen from 225 community leaders to assist the Prairie Farmer WLS Home Editor on the project. The nine also broadcast on the Rita Ascot Jim Ameche Purina Party Line show last Saturday and toured the Board of Trade Merchandise Mart Welcome Travelers program National Barn Dance and South Pacific.
Mr and Mrs Charles Wood Jr of Delphi are the parents of a son named Douglas Barry born Sunday at a Lafayette hospital.
Plans for a Purdue Livestock and Meat Caravan visit to Delphi REMC auditorium on Thursday February 7 from 10 am to 3 pm feature 15 demonstration exhibits. Purdue specialists will discuss livestock poultry crops veterinary health and home economics with attendees from 11 am to 2 pm with a 1 pm Home Economics chorus performance. Master of ceremonies are Leo Craig and John Peterson with co chairmen Frieda Burgitt and Mrs Alfred Anderson coordinating registration and hosts.
Approximately 400 people attended the 2nd annual Fish Fry and meeting of Carroll County Soil Conservation District at Flora Community Building. Walter Barnhart of Clay Two was elected supervisor for a three year term alongside Miles Martin Taylor Fouts Enos Berkshire and Charles Thompson. Awards for school essay winners were presented. first and second place winners received watches and fountain pen sets respectively. A Nature Series Film on conservation was shown, and 325 pounds of fish were prepared by the Baker Brothers and served by district supervisors and their wives. Ralph Reagan screened a safety film after the meal.

The Chicago Big Five led by manager promises victory over the Rockets as they visit the Delph Armory Sunday afternoon. The State of Indiana has issued a warrant for the arrest of Martin J. Green charged with issuing a fraudulent check. Green whose address is unknown is alleged to have cashed a $47.19 forged check at Kroger. The complaint was signed by State Detective Abe Taylor.
Jim Partington announces a joke contest during the Honeychile show at the Roxy Theatre. Audiences are invited to write a joke and drop it off tonight. Jokes will be read and judged at the theater this evening with free passes awarded to winners.

Delphi high school reports first semester honors led by sophomores. Seniors and juniors list A students and honorable mention, with names across grade levels, including Elizabeth Ives and Carol Crosby. A six weeks honor list will be published next week.
Thelma J. Burton of Flora files a bed and board action in Carroll circuit court seeking 35 000 alimony for herself and 150 per week child support plus 1 000 attorney fees from Von A. Burton a Flora merchant. She says she married November 1 1931 and separated January 27 this year citing cruel and inhuman treatment.
The theater show Shooting Stars will be staged at the Delphi Armory on Wednesday and Thursday nights to benefit the Delphi Lions Club. A Tiny Tot contest and a Queen for a Day competition will run alongside the performances with prizes donated by local merchants. City water service was restored after a main break near Delphi but residents were told to boil water for drinking as authorities monitor for possible contamination while repairs continue.
