Republicans at Sportsman Hotel feud over 1950 House race
GOP attendees at the Sportsman Hotel dinner insist Roy Conrad will not oppose Charlie Halleck for Congress in the Second District. Some say Conrad would run only if Halleck challenged Senator Homer Capehart, while most leaders expect Halleck to stay in the Second District. The gathering yielded no healing, but participants viewed a cautious start toward party unity amid speculation and old rifts.
