Sheriff Carey's Year in Figures Highlights Local Crime

The first year of Sheriff Carey’s term shows 181 arrests by county and local police. Public intoxication led with 73 arrests. other charges include drunken driving 34 and investigation 23. The sheriff’s team handled 74 wrecks totaling 101 autos, 23 trucks, and 2 school buses, with two fatalities and 49 injuries.

New Jail Residence Planned For Delphi County

Architects unveil concept for a ranch style jail residence at the Delphi site on Illinois and Main streets. The project includes sheriff quarters with three bedrooms and a garage, plus remodeling of the jail to separate juveniles and women on the second floor and males on the ground floor. Climpton T. Graham 78 a well known retired farmer of the Burlington community died Sunday morning in a Logansport hospital after a lingering illness. Born April 12 1873 he was the son of James G and Elizabeth Clingenpeel Graham. He married Emma Rosetta Bock who died May 1 1949. The State Chamber of Commerce says Carroll County Indiana schools have the third highest per pupil cost in the state at 267 dollars, with county totals about 268 dollars. Mrs Jennie Fettig Attends Funeral for Cleveland Woman

Mrs. John Wolf of Cleveland Ohio died Sunday at her home after a long illness. She was a daughter-in-law of Mrs Eliza J Wolf of Delphi and visited here often. The husband survives and Mrs Jennie Fettig and Mrs Verl Weaver sisters-in-law traveled to Cleveland for the funeral on Wednesday.

IRS Representative To Visit Delwhi For 1951 Tax Returns
