List includes County attorney Mahlon Kerlin of Delphi, County Physician Dr. Geo W Seamer of Delphi, County Road Supt Amos Clingen reel of Flora, and multiple township posts. Carl Overholser and A G Campbell are the Republican board members with Campbell taking office January 1, replacing Democrat Earl Chapman.

Mrs. Jessie Finley Colvin 75 of Delphi died Christmas Day of heart trouble at her daughter’s home Mrs. De Clay Pearson She was born October 26 1880 in Delphi and lived there her whole life She was married to Thomas Colvin now deceased A member of the Delphi Presbyterian church and a charter member of the Pythian Sisters Surviving are her daughter Mrs Nellie Pearson two sisters Mrs Fannie Ginn and Mrs Nannie Whittey and a granddaughter Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the residence and burial followed in Delphi Masonic cemetery Pallbearers were Wilbur Grantham Luther Grantham John Shaeffer Richard Evans Max Finley and Clay Briggs Flowers carried by Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick Betty Williams and Mary Clawson.

Mary Mann and William Bordner Wed at Cutler Parsonage

Miss Mary Elizabeth Mann daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas Mann and William Bordner son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bordner of Cutler were married at the Cutler Presbyterian parsonage Saturday at 7 PM. They will reside on the Bordner farm south of Cutler. Dick Norris Indiana University sophomore and son of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Norris of Logansport was hospitalized in Indianapolis after an appendectomy following a Saturday illness at the Students Volunteer convention. He is a nephew of Mrs. Fred Craven Smith near Delphi.

Postal Receipts Rise Over 1934 Figures

Post master Burr Balser reports December 1935 postal receipts about 300 dollars higher than December 1934 reflecting increased local Christmas mailing. About 4000 more one cent stamps were sold in 1935 than in 1934.

Delphi Post Office Bid Opening Set for January 20

Bids for the new Delphi post office will be opened on or about January 20. The building is estimated to cost about 53 000 dollars excluding furnishings and equipment. The winning contractor will have 250 days to finish the project.

The Harry Roach bakery shifts from the Bradshaw building to Judge E. E. Pruitt's rooms on the south side of the square. The opening may occur Saturday but a definite date is not set.

Delphi High School Alumni Reunites After Long Sleep

About 225 Delphi High School alumni from class 1885 to 1936 gathered December 26 for a dinner meeting that revived the long dormant Alumni Association. The event at Iona Hotel featured speeches by prominent alumni, music, and a eight course banquet, lasting into the early hours. Forrest Orr, class of 1906, was elected president to guide future gatherings.

County corn-hog meetings scheduled

County signers will hear details of the new contracts at community meetings from January 6 to 9. Applications for new contracts may be signed at the meetings.

Mrs. Blanche Evans wife of Garfield Evans longtime Monroe Township resident died Tuesday evening at St Josephs hospital in Logansport from complications after four major operations. She 54. Survived by husband son Harold Bringhurst daughter Ruth Evans Murphy and three brothers and three sisters. Bosworth and Moore wed in Lafayette Presbyterian parsonage

Miss Pauline Bosworth of Delphi and Robert Moore of Flora were united in marriage at midnight Tuesday in Lafayette. Bosworth resigned as office assistant to Dr. Crampton. Moore manages the Shell station in Flora. They reside in a newly furnished home in Flora.

The Bradshaw family invited friends to their Wabash valley home two miles west of Delphi for an open house on Wednesday. The Delphi Citizen recalls a frigid Christmas of 1935 with three below zero at noon and 13 below in nearby towns. Families stayed indoors, radios linked homes to Bethlehem and Washington, and New Year’s Eve brought small gatherings as 1936 opened with cautious optimism.

C A Bailey Rockfield principal is reported markedly better at Clinton County Hospital. He has been a patient since November 30 after an automobile crash near Kirklin. Doctors believe he has started a winning fight against pneumonia.

Fate of Proposed Ice Skating Rink Depends on Park Board

The Delphi park board holds the fate of the planned ice skating rink in the new city park. Citizens urged its construction and plans paused as officials study potential grass damage. Mrs. Elizabeth Wagoner 74 died at midnight Wednesday at her home near the Brethren church in Pyrmont after a stroke three months prior. Treasurer Sets Deadline For 1935 Stamp Return

County Treasurer Robert Johnson announced that the 1935 intangible stamps will not be available after January 10, 1936. Any unused 1935 stamps must be returned to the treasurer's office to be exchanged for 1936 stamps no later than January 20, 1936.

Miss Gola Smith sister of Dr. L. H. Smith of Delphi died suddenly at a Sturgis Michigan hospital after a stroke. Survived by her sister Miss Margaret and Dr. Smith. She had visited Delphi often and had many local friends.

Recreation Center to Open Monday in Delphi

The Delphi recreation room will open Monday evening for public use with at least four nights per week during winter. It will include boxball alley boxing ring rifle range and archery equipment with supervision. The American Legion and other groups provided facilities and gear. ping pong will be added in January and boxing cards and dances planned.

An epidemic of dog poisonings has killed over a dozen pets in Delphi in the past year. Harold Brewer reports his valuable bird dog died of mercury poisoning, renewing efforts to identify and prosecute the malicous poisoner.
