Ernest Newell 78 died Wednesday morning at 9:15 at his Delphi home after a heart attack. A longtime Carroll county farmer, he had lived in Delphi since 1916. He was born in Illinois and lived in Warren county, Indiana, before moving here. Survived by a son Earl Newell, two daughters Mrs. Mary Scott and Mrs. Effie McNeel, two brothers, and the widow. Funeral Friday at 2 PM at Blythe Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Parker officiating. Burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p m for Orrin Clawson 87 of Carroll county who died Monday after a month long illness. He was the oldest member of Delphi Methodist church and celebrated 64 years of marriage to Mrs. Clawson in December. Surviving are his wife three sons Harry Courtney Ora and a daughter Edith Dickison all of the area. Courtney Clawson is a Carroll county commissioner. Rev Wilbur Day officiated burial was in Zion Cemetery near Flora Grimm and Sons had charge of arrangements.

Herbert Glenn Cotner 27 of Kokomo faces arraignment in Carroll circuit court on possessing 11 bushels of stolen rye. If guilty, he could face one to five years in prison and a maximum $500 fine.
