Carroll County R E M C will hold a Homemakers Holiday cooking school on Wednesday February 24 1965 at 1 00 PM in the R E M C auditorium. All housewives urged to attend. A Home Economist will conduct the school and valuable awards will be given as the start of a cook electrically dealer participation range sale.
The Saturday group of the County Chorus will meet at 1 30 PM on Saturday February 20 at the home of Mrs Ada Booth 208 East Main Street Flora.
Warning to parents to keep small objects away from children under five as choking is a leading cause of accidental death. Do not reach into a child’s mouth to remove objects. place the victim face down and seek a physician.
The Carroll High School Latin Club met February 9 in the cafetorium with consuls Jane Leiter and Toni Short presiding. The Junior Classical League sponsored a dance after the Sheridan game. Proceeds go to the state scholarship project. A Roman Banquet is planned for April 20.
Mrs. Glenn L. Jones sister of the bride and William Campbell son of the bridegroom served as attendants. After a small reception at the Jones home the couple left for a Florida wedding trip. They will reside at 5249 Central Avenue Apartment 5 after March.
Notice from the Board of Commissioners for Carroll County announces bids due March 2 1965 in Delphi for the second quarter 1965 groceries including granulated sugar bran wheat cereal and coffee items to be purchased for the county home.
The Delphi Little League Board met at the City Building to set tentative dates for registration opening day try-outs auction and parents meeting for the 1965 season. A managers meeting is planned for February 28 at 2 PM. W S Weaver is president.
John and Martha Williams of 521 West Miami Ave Logansport invite friends to an open house from two to five Sunday February 28 for their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Married February 27 1915 in Delphi by Rev Charles Lincoln Harper they are parents of Gerald V Williams Rosella Wedekind four grandchildren and a great grandson.
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Brevent near Camden included Mr. and Mrs. Duane Geiser and son Jeffrey from North Manchester along with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Meador and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Meador of Pyrmont.
Mr and Mrs Howard Snowberger and two sons of Monticello were Monday guests of Mr and Mrs Denzell Dennis. Mr and Mrs Charles Clifford and two sons of Monticello spent Tuesday with Mr and Mrs Dennis.
Edither Berninger and Judith Shock attended the Psi Iota Xi mid winter luncheon at the Murat Temple Indianapolis. Zeta Beta Chapter of Anderson hosted about 900 guests with Pearl of the Sea decor. Mozart aria was performed by Ball State Opera Workshop students. Attendees included Arvilla Burge Betty Jean Smith and Margaret Burkle.
The Carroll County Tuberculosis and Health Association met February 15 at the Court House office. Rick Bogan from the state office announced the annual State Meeting in Indianapolis May 1-12 and the National meeting in Chicago May 30. Treasurer’s report and 1965-66 budget were read, minutes approved, and committees formed to revise the constitution and nominate for the March annual meeting.
Emma York of Indianapolis and Manson Campbell married February 14 at Broadway Methodist Church. Mrs. Campbell is the former Mrs. John R. York, formerly of Delphi.
The All-Degree Day event takes place at the Camden Masonic Hall on Saturday February 20 starting at 2 PM. Supper will be served at 6 PM with Arthur Northrup of the Speakers' Bureau of the Scottish Rite as principal speaker. Members are urged to attend and reservations are via local lodges.
Mr and Mrs E E Johnson Jr with Mrs E E Johnson Sr traveled this week to California to attend the wedding of the daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Mack Johnson.
The Hotel Grill will begin 7 day operations starting this Sunday, expanding its weekly hours and accessibility for patrons. Managers expect increased patronage and note changes will affect weekend service.
Delphi Methodist Church hosts World Day of Prayer on Friday March 5 at 1 30 P M. The organizing committee includes Mrs Kenneth Pyle as chair Mrs John Laprad as 1st vice president Mrs Fred Collins as 2nd vice president Mrs Elsie Crundwell as secretary and Mrs Richard Sheldon as treasurer.
Mr and Mrs Robert Meador of near Rossville are on a two months vacation in Florida. They will visit Ft Myers Lakeland and Homestead and plan to be home about March 1.
