Burlington Man Dies Instantly In Early Morning Crash
David Lee Shuler 27, of Burlington and father of three, died instantly in a 3:45 a.m. crash on highway 22 two miles east of Burlington. Officials believe he fell asleep at the wheel causing the vehicle to overturn after leaving the road. a bread truck driver found him. Survived by his widow Joretta Snyder and three children, his mother Elvira Harness and nine siblings. Funeral services were held at Burlington Christian church with burial in Burlington cemetery. Carters funeral home in charge.

Two hurt in head on crash near Lafayette
Mr and Mrs Ruben Myer of route 3 Lafayette were injured in a Sunday night two car crash when Mrs Myer driving south on highway 25 attempted a left onto Flora road and collided head on with Delton Budrow 49 of Fowler. Mrs Myer fractured wrist and facial lacerations while Mr Myer had severe facial lacerations. Budrow suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized. State Police investigated and cited a headlight outage as a contributing factor.

Out of court cash settlement ends damage suit
A 50 000 personal injury suit in Tippecanoe Lafayette circuit court ended when Earl Speer of Yeoman and Monon Railroad reached a compromise settlement out of court after a directed verdict motion was denied. A Lafayette youth and a Monticello youth were turned over to juvenile authorities after stealing two cars in Lafayette and Monticello Sunday night.
