Delphi Teen Scene Closes Year With Christmas Convocation
The Delphi teen scene celebrated Christmas with a spiritual and material observance led by Wednesday's Christmas Convocation. The Top Twenty, Silver Notes and High School Choir performed carols narrated by Thespian Club members. Foreign exchange students Leonor Vallejo and the Yeager family held traditional celebrations including Midnight Mass in Logansport. Gino Conte and the Michael Dwyer family also attended Midnight Mass, sharing gifts from Italy, while Elaine Zerfas visited Florida with her parents. College-bound students received guidance from seven visiting college students, and Max Rhodes hosted a going away party for Larry Allen who leaves for an Air Force base in Texas. The Top Twenty performed at the Legion Home for the Auxiliary, and the Silvernotes sang at the Presbyterian Church despite member shortages. Scorers list Ed Cause and Joe Fowler, 96. The undefeated squad is led by captain Chris Strant with 90 points. The piece notes a fashion shift toward “poor boy” sweaters and granny looks as the year ends.
