Rumpus at Deer Creek Hall Ends in Fines and Arrests
Two men from Logansport and a girl faced a fight at the Deer Creek dance hall last Wednesday. William Caulkin and Ray Finickle were arrested Saturday by Deputy Sheriff Frank Sink and jailed in Delphi after a Never affidavit. Caulkin and Finickle pleaded guilty and were fined 5 dollars plus costs totaling 31.70. Authorities say bootleggers outside the hall complicate enforcement and miscreants are hard to curb.

Three high school basketball games Friday night ended with Delphi sweeping Camden and Rockfield teams. Delphi’s junior high beat Camden 20 to 1, Delphi won 21-20 over Rock Creek, and the final 26-16 against Camden in a rough but fast contest. Crosby led Delphi with four field goals while Penigo scored three field goals and two fouls. Sanderson of Camden suffered a head injury but returned to play after treatment.
