The last will of William W. Roth is probated in Carroll circuit court. Debts paid and real estate known as The Reserve in San Louisa Florida is left to D. E. Hoffman. Remainder goes to Zelma R. Roth. Two Break-Ins Yield No Loss Reported

Police reported two break-ins this week with no items stolen. At the Whiteman Brothers elevator a front door glass was broken and the cash register rifled. The Sutter garage in South Delphi had a back door glass shattered to gain entry.

Ink Theft at Local Store Leads to Arrest

A local resident was caught shoplifting a bottle of ink by the store proprietor last week. The ink, priced at 10 cents, was valued at $22.50 in the incident and the offender was arrested.

Divorce Denied in Burnett Case by Judge Smith

Judge William B. Smith in Car Roll circuit court denied a divorce in the case of Loring vs. Emily Burnett. The plaintiff sought a divorce on cruelty grounds. Costs were assessed against the plaintiff and $200 in attorney fees ordered. Suit venued here from Cass County.

Burglaries Of Two Farm Homes Quickly Solved By Officers

Sheriff Sparkey Carey said two Montgomery county men and a Delphi juvenile were arrested for two farm home burglaries near Delphi. Craig Widner and Charles Wank, both from New Richmond, along with the juvenile, are jailed in Crawfordsville. They confessed to stealing an anniversary clock and jewelry box from the Robert Clawson home and a silver tea service from the Mrs. Jason Been farm west of town. The clock was recovered at a Logansport second hand shop. Officers praised the swift work in solving the cases.

Hold Inquest Into Accident That Killed Local Man

An inquest in Logansport examined Everett England's death after a board tipped and caused a fall. Witness Ro bert Peters testified England grabbed a beam and lost his grip, leading to fatal head injuries per autopsy by Dr. Clarence Cobb. Hallie England, Melvin Jackson, and Vernon Newport also testified.

Camden couple injured in unexplainable incident

Two Camden residents, Mrs Vernadine Johnson and Everett Stitt, are in fair to grave condition at Memorial hospital after an unexplainable Sunday morning incident near the Don Willy home. Delphi high school music organizations under Wes Humphrey presented their annual Christmas program to a large crowd in the school auditorium last Friday. Bill Million performed a Hammond organ recital before the carols sung by the Double Octet and choral groups. A jug band led by Jim Blythe made its debut and won praise. The highlight was the full high school band under Humphrey delivering challenging numbers with nearFlawless execution. School to home phone aids confined boy in Delphi

Carroll Telephone Co installed a sending and receiving school to home hookup at the Carl May residence in South Delphi. Howard May 14, a polio victim, will use the four room system to keep up with classwork while bedridden for eight months. Rental of about 15 dollars monthly will be paid by the Infantile Paralysis chapter and the State Department of Public Instruction.

Grand Jury Ends Two Day Session No Indictments

The Carroll County Grand Jury ended its two day session Thursday afternoon and returned its report to Judge William B. Smith. Wayne Talbert served as foreman and Arthur Appleton as clerk. No indictments were returned. The group commended Mr and Mrs C L Carey for jail care and saluted Mr and Mrs Warnie Mullendere for county home care. They recommended improvements at the jail including a wider step at the east entrance and a wall or fence around the back yard. If the county retains ownership of the county home, several minor improvements were advised.

John Merrell Elected Chairman of Second District

Carroll county Democrat John Merrell was chosen as Second District Democratic chairman at a meeting in Winamac. He succeeds William Shaw who moves to the State Conservation Commission. Bertha Douglass of White County was named district vice chairman. Both officers were elected without opposition.
