Governor Indicates Receptive Turn on Special Legislative Session

Indiana Governor Harry G. Leslie told the Township Trustees Association that he is in a receptive mood toward a special session to pursue tax relief but warned success is unlikely with divided legislature. He said no spending of 125000 unless a clear program gains support and emphasized the need for a nonpolitical, united approach. The remarks fuel speculation of a shift from his prior opposition under pressure from Indiana Farm Bureau and allied groups.
