Delphi FFA Leader Injured In Intra-mural Basketball
Bill Duff president of the Delphi Chapter of Future Farmers of America fractured his arm Wednesday night during intramural play at the Delphi Armory. The injury occurred just above the elbow and he was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital Lafayette where he remains in room 225.

Jailed county jury urges home and jail improvements
Carroll County Grand Jury ended its two day session with no indictments but issued strong recommendations to open the county home to Old Age Assistance recipients and to fund improvements at the county jail. BERT B MAYHILL DIES RETIRED EDITOR AT 68
Bert B Mayhill aged 68 died Saturday at the family home in Carroll County after a three year heart illness. He was publisher of the Delphi Journal for 31 years and a five term joint state representative for Cass and Carroll counties. He authored laws and served on key House committees and as sergeant at arms at two Republican conventions. He is survived by two sons, a widow, and two grandchildren. Funeral was held Tuesday at Patrick Mortuary with burial in Maple Lawn cemetery.

Julius, a retired Delphi clothier, fell from a ladder at his farm south of town while working near a barn. He suffered a severe head gash and was taken to Home Hospital in Lafayette, where he was listed resting comfortably the next morning.

County Donates 7600 to Drive Ends in Relief Effort
Carroll county residents donated 7638.83 in money and grain to the Christian Rural Overseas Program as the county drive closed December 3. John Johnson of Genoa Wisconsin died at age 60 leaving a wife three sons four daughters and ten grandchildren. Funeral rites and burial were held in Genoa. He had resided here until moving to Wisconsin in 1910 and was the brother of Ben Johnson of West Delphi.
