Luther R McCain Celebrates 90th Birthday in Carrollton
Luther R McCain a retired Delphi jeweler born August 27 1874 on the Carrollton farm is 90 and the oldest living optician in Indiana. He opened a jewelry store in 1893 and later ran it near the courthouse square for six decades. He married Helen Harley in 1903. they had three children Catharine Tom and Bob. A foster son Jim French is a Lafayette school principal. A family party will be held at Tom McCain's home on the town’s north edge.
