Joseph A Seiler 79 died Wednesday at Dukes Hospital Peru after an illness of five months. Born July 2 1886 in Delphi he was the son of Nicholas and Rufina Seiler. Survived by brother Charles H Peru two sisters Mrs Josephine Bernhart Peru and Mrs Mary Schooler Denver Colo. He moved to Peru in 1920. He was a member of St Charles Catholic Church where final rites were held Saturday with Rt Rev Msgr A A Sego officiating and burial in St Joseph Cemetery Delphi.
Sixteen year old Ivan Burkle son of Mr and Mrs Elwood Burkle Rossville spent last week at the University of Missouri attending the American Institute of Cooperation Representing 16 youth organizations from every state and many foreign nations the meeting drew wide participation Ivan will be a Rossville High School senior and was sponsored by the Carroll County Farm Bureau Co op
Mr and Mrs Jim Moore and family have relocated to the Bob Hawkins property on Cottage Street.
Tom Bowman eleven year old son of Mr and Mrs Melvin Bowman route two Delphi Indiana qualified in two events and earned eligibility to ride in the Coliseum at the Indiana State Fair on September 7 He placed in speed and action con test and the barrel race at the National Finals Eliminations of the Contest Riders Association The Warsaw based Contest Riders Association circuit keeps the Bowman family busy every weekend this summer This seventh grader at Pittsburg School aims for the High Point Trophy three feet tall and plans a future in horses and riding

Mrs. Robert VanNatta hosted a Friday morning coffee in honor of Mrs. David Wickman who is visiting her mother Mrs. Will Smock. Mrs. Glen Kennard is in Seattle visiting her daughter and family Mr and Mrs Jack Orr and Judy.
Football practice for the 1965 season started Monday with morning two hour sessions for linemen and backs and 3:30 to 5:30 afternoon workouts. Co captains Gregg Shaeffer and Tom Freeman lead a nucleus including Ed Ringer Steve Brehmer Ron Israel Clark Adams and Bob Politz. First game is September 3 at North Judson.
Judge William B. Smith announced the Bachelor Run Conservancy District Board of Directors. Harold A. Jones received a one year term, Clarence Watson two years, Robert A. Jones three years, J. Royce Myer four years, and Walter R. Allbaugh four years.
Edward Slay of Flora, aged 37, was in fair condition after a two car collision at Indiana 25 near Lafayette. He struck the Wildcat Creek bridge abutment causing his car to slide and hit Alva C. Stein's southwest bound vehicle. Stein and his family were treated and released. damage estimated at $2,500.
At the Carroll County Fair a dairy calf was auctioned to raise funds for the 4-H Dairy Promotion Committee. The event, chaired by Meredith Ayres, netted 67.50 dollars used for a promotion trip and a college scholarship, with Ralph Rinehart the auctioneer and several contributors noted.
WSAL daily morning program from 11 15 to 11 30 features Rev Earl Zimmerman of Lower Deer Creek Bachelor Run Church of the Brethren broadcast August 23 to 27.
Members of the Draper family will meet at Flora Community Park at noon on Sunday, August 22 for the 53rd reunion.

The Carroll County 4-H Fair auction on August 5 saw 94 steers 74 barrows and 6 hog weight groups plus 11 fat lambs sold to 46 buyers. Grand Champion steer sold for 1.12 a pound to Star Roller Mills and John Chittick. other top lots included Hereford reserve Grand Champion sold for .60 a pound and Grand Champion barrow bought by Hernold Hog Market for 1.30 a pound.
Barbara Alderson to assume the Tribal Trails Girl Scout Council post September 1 replacing Helen Cline who left for Indianapolis. Alderson has long served in Tribal Trails roles including Day Camp Coordinator and Camp Kokinanee director and holds a University of Illinois degree. Cathy Cromer of Flora joined in camp activities this summer.
Delphi Community Schools publish the 1965-66 calendar with start Sept 2, 90 semester days, early workshops, and holidays. The district notes 1,900 students, 16 new teachers, and a renovated Camden gym as facilities reopen under superintendent Arthur Weddell. List of Delphi High School and Camden faculty includes principals James Hertling and R. P. Minneman and dozens of teachers across subjects.
Mr and Mrs Donald Huff will attend the 51st annual Indiana Teachers of Vocational Agriculture conference on Indiana University campus August 15 18. The event oldest in Indiana vocational education will award 10 25 and 30 year teachers and feature Lane C Ash from the U S Office of Education Washington speaking on Agriculture s Role in Expanding Horizons for Vocational Education.
A joint Carroll and White County health meeting set plans to lower Lake Shafer on September 8 and Lake Freeman on September 11. Representatives from Conservation NIPSCO the Division of Water Pollution and the State Board of Health attended. Lowering aids pier and waterfront repairs and bottom waste removal with the Department of Conservation assisting in the sanitary survey.
Mr and Mrs C J Hyman relocate to Summit Street house once held by Dave Harrison. Frank Cheek buys the Hyman residence on Route 4. Hymans buy Whiteman Addition lot and plan construction while living at the O Farrell property. William B Smith vacationing in Michigan.
Delphi's Welcome Inn cafe will switch to a modern cafeteria design led by Milt and Jim Tyner. The redesign relocates the serving area to the rear, adds stainless steel equipment and balcony lighting, and moves the dining room wall fifteen feet south to boost seating to eighty. The Tyner brothers pledge continued high quality for locals and visitors.
