A daughter named Mary Joy was born Tuesday to Prof. and Mrs. W. C. Wiley of Ridgeville. Mrs. Wiley, nee Mayme Stuart, is the daughter of Benjamin Stuart and formerly taught Home Economics at Delphi High School. Prof. Wiley serves as Ridgeville Schools superintendent. Dana Todd of Albuquerque arrived in Flora for a month with relatives. his mother and brother will join soon. Todd plans to study at Columbia University with his mother and George Todd traveling to New York to the Conservatory of Music. Delphi Chamber of Commerce aims to bring Caroline Smith, world champion high diver, for stunts at the new swimming pool on Sunday, August 16. Swimming experts touring Indianapolis will pass through Delphi en route to Peru. A Peru contractor laments rising interior finish-work costs since Delphi Lumber Co. era. local builders who did finishing work now operate their own plant as Delphi Woodworking Co, and are doing work for Sattian hydroelectric at Monticello.

Aged wagon maker Jacob Fisher dies at 91
Jacob Fisher of Delphi died Monday morning at his home after a Friday apoplexy. Born May 19 1834 in Butler County Ohio he spent 70 years in this county. A Civil War veteran he was a noted wagon maker who invented broad tires for long wagons and the fifth wheel and built the first school wagon and a mail carrier wagon later adopted nationally. Surviving are son John and daughters Elizabeth Murphy of Delphi Martha Atkinson of Carrollton Ky. Funeral held Wednesday with Rev R O Kimberlin officiating. burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
