Delphi approves alley improvements contract awarded
At a Delphi city council meeting last Tuesday the alley improvement contract in the business district was awarded to Lytle Anderson for 883 dollars. Other bidders ranged from 1,048 to 1,850 dollars. The coroner reported 24 hour crossing service at all railroad crossings and the matter was sent to the city attorney to consult with the Public Service Commission. A son was born Monday to Mr and Mrs Paul Brown of Burrows.

New Hope Patrons Celebrate Last Day At School
More than 300 people attended a dinner on the last day of the New Hope school term. The school is praised for strong management and low per capita costs, with former Delphi teachers among its staff. John M. Sheets served as principal, Mable Crowe as assistant principal, Miss Campbell and Miss Irelan as teachers. Perry Rule retired as trustee and was succeeded by John Sheets.

Mulberry Man Involved In Highway Collision Near Ashba

A well attended benefit card party was held Wednesday at the Armory by the Carroll County Tuberculosis Association. Mrs. William Afflis chaired. eleven tables of bridge and five hundred and thirteen tables of euchre. Two Casts Present Senior Class Play at Local High School
The high school presented the senior class play Cappy Ricks over two nights under directors Prof. Do A Smith and Prof. Marion Robbins. John Shuey played the title role Thursday and John Sanderson Friday, with large audiences. Cast included Doris Doolittle Howard Howell Laureen Jackson Robert Martin and others. The RM D contest events featured a Shuey oration a Regina Jackson violin solo Aileen Jackson reading and songs by students plus a harmonica quartet.
