Tryouts for Delphi Little League are scheduled Saturday April 24 at the league baseball park. Community Tornado Relief Drive Seeks Volunteers
Clinton and surrounding counties appeal for help to clear debris and support tornado victims. Volunteers should report to the American Legion Hall in Rossville for assignment while Camden Community Club and Camden Lions Club run a drive to collect clothing furniture and other relief items. Royce Kurtz Named Head of Tippecanoe County Schools
Royce E. Kurtz former Delphi superintendent is named Superintendent of the Tippecanoe School Corporation for a three year term starting July 1 after Lloyd Sackmire resigns. Rural fires hit Tippecanoe and nearby homes
Firefighters answered two rural calls on Monday in Tippecanoe Township at 12 40 p m to the John Shockley woods where children playing were blamed for a wood edge fire and at 4 p m to Mrs M M Treichel south of here on route 4 where a field fire swept through. The Buck Creek department found the Wayne Draper Americus residence destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon with house and contents a total loss. Max Kemmer owned the home. A neighbor, Mrs Bill Rodenbarger, spotted the blaze.

The 33rd Delphi Relays start at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 24 on Hillcrest Field with 500 athletes from 24 schools in A B and C divisions. Noblesville defends Class A with Lafayette Jefferson Logansport and Fort Wayne South among favorites. West Lafayette leads Class B with Muncie Burris, Delphi and Rensselaer chasing. Track Squad Competes At Muncie Wins Here Monday
In the Muncie Relays last Saturday the Oracle track team earned 12 points and finished fifth of six. Noblesville won with 14. Delphi results included mile relay third, two mile relay fourth, 880 yard relay fourth. Greg Shaeffer was runner up in high jump at 5 feet 8 inches and third in pole vault with 12 feet set as a school record. Monday evening here the Oracles won a three way meet with 56 points, Clinton Prairie 52, Central Catholic 29, with pole vault high hurdles broad jump and low hurdles firsts. Tuesday Delphi Junior High beat Rensselaer 62-24 and the Freshmen 58-28. Wednesday the Oracles met Western slimies here.
