It cites gifts to the University of Rochester, the Hoover moratorium expiring, and debates over how Germany and other nations will meet reparation and debt obligations. Two Old Members Favored in Madison Advisory Board Case
Judge E. 5. Pruitt of the Carroll circuit court ruled that John Weichter and Raymond Dukes, former board members from 1926 to 1930, were the legal members of the Madison Township advisory board. Lester Dickinson was disqualified for not filing an oath of office. The quo warranto case by Nichter, Dukes and Dickinson challenged Alpha Rule Edward Lane and Benjamin W. Aiken. The lengthy dispute follows the 1930 election where Rule, Goslee and Chapman were elected but later replaced by Troxel and Lane, with subsequent resignations. The losers plan an appeal to the Indiana Supreme Court unless a new trial is secured. Dickinson’s successor likely will be named soon.
