Carroll County Farm Diversion Plan For 1961 Details
County Chairman Thomas Elston outlines a 1961 farm program allowing corn and sorghum producers to divert at least 20 percent of their farm base to conservation uses in exchange for per acre payments and continued price support on remaining 1961 crops. Diverted acres reduce the farm base for 1961 planting limits and must be planted to permanent or temporary cover, with hay and pasture conservation maintained at 1959–60 levels.
