Speech of Josiah Randall Before Pennsylvania Democrats
Josiah Randall delivers a political address to Pennsylvania Democratic State Committees arguing about the historical split between Democrats and Whigs over key policy questions such as the Bank of the United States, the Sub Treasury, and the distribution of public land proceeds, noting shifts in party alignments. The speech recalls debates on tariffs and the Mexican War’s debt impact, ending mid thought on continuing disputes.
