Newtown to Hear Zoning Change for ARCO Research Center
The Newtown township supervisors set 8 p m Monday special session to consider a zoning change from B 1 to B 2 to allow Atlantic Richfield Co to develop the former Ellis School tract as a 312 acre research facility for ARCO Chemical Co. The $6 million purchase would add 600 jobs initially and up to 1000 later, with a feasibility study under way to gauge site suitability near Philadelphia offices and airport.
