Times launches annual Christmas fund drive
The Daily Times Merry Christmas Fund begins its ninth year with a goal of 15500 by Christmas Eve to aid Chester Salvation Army programs and provide toys and food for at least 950 area families. Early donors include Richard Horne and Elizabeth Phillips. McDonald’s restaurants and WQIQ radio join in fundraisers.

Media Paves Way to Up Water Rates in Media Borough
Media Borough votes 4-1 to turn over the Media Water Co to an operating authority to bypass the Public Utilities Commission and raise rates to fund $2 million in capital needs. The move could allow a roughly 40 percent rate hike over the next several years while a rate study is awaited.
