Dynafuel Sunk After Collision Off Cape Cod Canal

A Dynafuel tanker sank near Quick's Hole after a collision with the Fernview 10 miles west of Cape Cod Canal in fog. Five tankermen were burned or injured. 57 crewmen rode out the night aboard the Fernview as flames burned across both vessels.

72 Seized In Raids in 4 Counties

Erie Pennsylvania AP The latest in a series of gambling raids ordered by Atty Gen Walter Alessandroni led to 72 arrests across four north western counties Erie Crawford Venango and Warren A total of 95 taverns clubs restaurants diners and cigar stores were raided by 120 state troopers and local officers 142 pinball machines were seized The raids will continue until all forms of gambling and vice are wiped out

Tanker Collision Sends Crewmembers Hurt in Fire Ball

Eight crew aboard the tanker Dafuel collided with the Norwegian freighter Fernview near New Bedford. Builder Denied Permit for Twin Duplex in Ridley Park

Ridley Township builder Vincent Verdes was denied a variance to construct a four family twin duplex at Morton Ave and Rogers St. The zoning board, after a public hearing with 26 signatures opposing, instructed its solicitor John Wellman to notify Verdes of the denial.
