Scout Raises Flags for Veterans Day Service at Mt Cemetery

In Aston a Scout led a Veteran's Day project placing 59 flags at Mt Cemetery with help from the Weather Vane Road family, American Legion Post 926, and the VA. Buddy Eppehimer spent $19.20 of his own money and hopes to replace all 100 markers as state Sen. Clarence Bell prepares to speak at the event. Memorial Day observances are planned by Chester Veterans Council with multiple posts statewide conducting services and remembrances at 11 a.m. and 9 a.m. across Ridley, Darby, Upper Darby, and Haverford areas, followed by parades and county courthouse ceremonies.

Fire in Media Station Apartment kitchen injures resident

Fire at the Media Station Apartment unit on Thursday evening started by cooking oil flare up. Rose Tree Fire Chief John Trueworthy said the blaze was accidental and contained to the unit. Resident Eric Clinton Wade, 28, of Urban Ave., was hospitalized in satisfactory condition at Riddle Hospital.

Parents press Penn-Delco teachers at tense forum
