Woman 69 Fends Off Intruder in Ruth L Bennett Housing
A 69 year old woman living alone in the Ruth L Bennett housing project fired a .32 caliber revolver at an intruder who forced open her front door and entered her bedroom early Saturday. Police said the man went down and crawled away. he was not treated at area hospitals. The resident, who requested anonymity, said she fired in self defense and scared the burglar off. Police report noted a small amount of blood at the scene.
