In separate courtrooms killers of Melba Lovelace's three children faced judges after a spree of violence. Jamar 15 and Janelle 13 died in an arson at their West 8th Street home on January 12 1992. Lovelace 39 pleaded no contest to two counts of third degree murder and faces sentencing August 25. Jermaine Davis 23 was killed in a separate feud. Arthur Frisby 21 pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in that death and received five to ten years.

Mattus proposes shoulder use on Blue Route to ease traffic
Ridley Township councilman Paul Mattus urged using the Blue Route shoulders during peak hours with automated lane control to add capacity between Exits 1 and 4. He cited air pollution from idling cars and drew support from council members and officials, noting Fairfax County's similar approach on I-66 as a model.
