Harrisburg AP reports the General Assembly reduces Shafer's 2 billion budget while the governor is set to sign a 1.7 billion general appropriations bill into law. House approval also advances 156 million for state related colleges and universities, including 59.2 million for Penn State 32 million for Pitt and 31.4 million for Temple. With 53.3 million for scholarships pending, House actions also include 42 million in money bills with two sent back for amendments.
