California lemon bill clears Senate amid repairs risk
The California Senate passed a lemon bill by 284 votes to return for amendments, aiming to protect car buyers when new vehicles need excessive repairs. If Gov Brown signs, California joins Connecticut with such protections. The measure defines lemons after a car accumulates four service visits or 30 days in shop. Owners may get refunds or replacements.
