Honoring Two Rose Tree Media Bus Drivers in County Awards
Upper Providence district honors Dick O'Donnell and Bill Fili with special service plaques for acts of courage. O'Donnell used his bus to shield a driverless car from traffic on Township Line Road February 7, 1991, and kept passengers safe though the incident remained unreported for over a year. Fili assisted three students after a December 1990 crash on Painter Road, staying with them in a flipped car until help arrived.
