Mechanics Help Stranded Couple In Delaware County
A young Bridgeton New Jersey couple David Gross 21 Verna 19 and their infant were stranded in Delaware County after their 1974 Pontiac transmission failed. Aamco Transmissions Springfield owners Doug Frohock and Nancy towed the car provided hotel meals and diapers and installed a rebuilt transmission at little or no cost, with Ramco covering most expenses.

Bicyclist on cross country trip to aid disabled
Peter Lyon of Drexel Hill and Ron Waldyk begin a 3500 mile bicycle journey from Los Angeles to Sea Isle City New Jersey on June 4 to raise funds for swimming equipment for the handicapped at the Community Y in Upper Darby. They expect to finish by early August. Lyon, 26, recalls 600 miles as the toughest start and describes desert heat and a 2000 foot climb in 17 miles.

Lone Ranger found guilty in abductions
Gary L. Iverson, 32, of Claymont nicknamed the Lone Ranger, was convicted in Superior Court Wilmington on eight felony counts after a jury trial before Judge Joseph Wahl. He received two counts each of first degree robbery, second degree kidnapping, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and possession of a weapon during a felony. Two sexual assault charges were dismissed. A victim said the assault occurred in Pennsylvania in one case. Iverson and co defendant Michael Petiica, 37, of Claymont, were arrested in mid September last year.
