Ryan bill offers health insurance aid for new workers
Harrisburg lawmakers report Rep. Matt Ryan introduced a measure to aid former welfare recipients who take entry level jobs without insurance. The bill would have the Department of Public Welfare set eligibility income levels and could pay state premiums from 75 dollars for a single adult up to 195 dollars for a couple with two children. The state would cover full premiums for one year then phase out by 25 percent annually.
